Hi world,
So this blog began as a mechanism to keep my family updated on my travels when I was in South Africa, but now, it's a keepsake of memories and experiences that I'll treasure forever. Thus, I want to share it. This blog contains the ups and downs of my time in Cape Town so read, laugh, cry, learn from, and enjoy it.
If you're nosey and you read the comments, which I'm sure you will, you'll notice that I wouldn't have and couldn't have made it through without my amazing family. My mom, dad, granny, brother, sister, cousin, and uncle made (and still make) my world go round.
Anyway, please feel free to comment, ask questions, or just feel free to peruse. Maybe you'll see why I'm so in love with South Africa... I was different there... and I miss that.
Peace and love.
Love,
Me

Departure Update
Hey guys,
Here's the deal.
- Thank goodness for Jas and her fam. They're taking a huge bag to Jersey/NY for me. That will definitely help me out because as a standby passenger, I can't take a lot of stuff like that. The only reason I did it on the way here was because Lyndon and his friend got me the hook up, which he later got into trouble for.
- Jas and her family leave from Cape Town on Saturday, and from there they're flying to Dakar, then to JFK. So, sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I'm going to make a trip up there to get my stuff.
- As of now, I arrive around 8 Saturday morning. Conveniently, Jas' Dad has a Blackberry so I've been able to use his charger for mine. Thus, my phone should be working upon landing. But this all could change. Lyndon said that my flight looks good from Cape Town to Dakar, but from Dakar to Atlanta, he's not so sure. SO, if at the last minute, he thinks I should stay on the plane in Dakar and just fly to JFK, that may be the deal. If that happens, which it hopefully will not, I should still be home on Saturday because there are ten million flights from NY to Atlanta every day.
- I'm almost done packing, and I'm trying to donate as much stuff as I possibly can to lighten the load. It seems to be working out well.
I'll be home soon guys.
Love you all,
Me

The Home Stretch
Hey guys,
So it's the final countdown to my arrival back in the states, and it's a bitter sweet countdown. I can't wait to see you guys, but saying goodbye to this place will not be easy. As always, I've over committed my time between goodbyes with people, tourist sites, and other stuff, but that's cool, I'll be busy up to the second I depart. I don't have much else to say. Here's some quick stuff though...
- Jas and I had a great time yesterday at the beach. The weather was perfect! (I'll meet her family this week)
- church was great today, it was a great Sunday conclusion to my trip.
That's all for now,
Love,
Me
ps. I'll be honest, it has cross my mind to get a tattoo of Africa... it just crossed my mind... that's all... for now
pss. Granny, I'll answer all your flight questions in the next post.

Here's what I've been up to...
Hey family,
Another quick run-down ensues...
- I've spent the past few days at cabins at the beach in Simonstown with the student Y... it rained the whole time
- Jas and I are going to the beach in Cape Town tomorrow
- A few friends have already left for home... it's becoming more and more real that I'm leaving this place, I'm honestly not ready to come home :-( (I think... at least sometimes)
That's it... it's not much, but I just wanted to give a quick update.
I love yall,
Me

Cancelled :-(
You guys will be happy to know that my climb was canceled due to inclement weather :-( But I will try again another day. I just did my usual jog, added a swim, and kept going on with my day.
I went to the slave lodge today. It was hard to do. That museum is eerie because it was a real slave lodge where they kept slaves in horrid conditions. Then, we went to St.George's Cathedral where Desmond Tutu preaches when he's in town. It is GORGEOUS!!!
Anyway, love yall and I'll ttyl!
